FAQs
What is Bounty Hunter?
Bounty Hunter blends the drama of poker with the ease of online slots. Buy a scratch card that represents a player in a historical bounty-only poker tournament, and win money based on their result.
Watch their entire tournament – sweating their Featured Hands, and earning jackpots for big plays – or skip straight to the outcome: the choice is yours!
Is there a difference between the three scratch cards displayed?
Each scratch card represents a unique player in a historical poker tournament. Three players are randomly assigned to a machine slot, and you pick one of these remaining players for that tournament. Player selection is random, so it’s luck of the draw. Good luck!
How do I win money in Bounty Hunter?
Your player participated in a 110,000-person poker tournament, and for each opponent your player knocked out, they won a Bounty. The total bounties they won in the tournament is the money you win.
If your player hit any two flushes in that tournament, you’ll also win a jackpot.
How do Bounties work?
When your player eliminates another player, that opponent’s Bounty is split in half. You win one-half of the prize, and the other half goes into your player’s Bounty. This is known as a progressive bounty format.
For example, if your player had a $50 Bounty, and knocked-out another player with a $50 Bounty, you would win $25, and your player would now have a $75 Bounty on their head.
If your player wins the tournament, they win their own bounty as well. In tournaments with over 100,000 players, the last player standing can win a huge jackpot!
Do I have to watch the whole tournament?
No. Only a select number of Featured Hands are shown – typically a significant chip swing or when you win a bounty.
You can skip any Featured Hands, or go straight to your scratch card and reveal your results at any time.
Some people find it fun to scratch a couple of fields, such as hands played. This makes it clear how far their player went. More hands equals a deeper run – and makes sweating each hand more fun!
Why are they called Scratch Cards?
Similar to many lotteries and other contests worldwide, you scratch the card to reveal your prize. You can watch the entire tournament if you’d like, but if the suspense is too much, you can scratch your card and reveal your prize immediately.
What happens in a hand when more than one player is All-In?
Since you can only bust a player whose chip stack is smaller than yours, if more than one player is All-In, the player who started the hand with the most chips will claim the bounty.
For example, Player A is All-In with 10,000 chips, you are All-In with 4,000 chips, and Player C is All-In with 6,000 chips. You make the best hand, and Player A has the second-best hand. You would triple-up in chips (winning 4,000 chips from Player A and Player C), but Player A would claim Player C’s bounty because he had more chips than both of you.
Why are the jackpots based on Flushes?
Making two flushes – and the related odds of making two flushes, one straight flush, etc. in the same event – is the best way to generate the appropriate odds for a jackpot payout.
Do these players make flushes more frequently than in regular poker?
No. The odds of making any hand are the exact same as in any poker tournament.
Is one player better than the others?
No. Each player has a different style, but they are designed to perform the same over time. The results of all the players will be very close to each other over a large enough data set.
What does MCIP stand for?
MCIP stands for “my chips in play’, and refers to all of your chips involved in the current hand.
Are all 110,000 people playing at the same time?
No. This is a historical, on-demand poker tournament that has already been played. Each scratch card represents a player in that tournament, and you will win what they won.
How are Featured Hands selected?
Bounty Hunter has a complex algorithm that shows only the hands that are the most exciting and have the most at stake. No one wants to sit through ‘raise and fold’ hands! Think of it as a highlight reel of the hands your player took part in during the tournament.
Why does my Bounty amount vary?
In order to up the excitement, bounties are random. Think of it like a mystery bounty – except the mystery is in not knowing what your opponent’s bounty is. The top bounty in the $100 buy-in is $1,000,000. This means that you could win $500k on the first hand!
What are the stats on each Scratch Card?
- Hands Played: the number of hands played in the tournament
- First Flush: the first Flush (regular, Straight, Royal) your player made in the tournament
- Number of Bounties Won: the number of bounties your player won in the tournament
- Second Flush: the second Flush your player made in the tournament
- Bounty Winnings: the total money won by your player in Bounties
- Jackpot Winnings: the total money won by your player in Jackpots
- Total Winnings: your player’s total money won in this tournament
What happens when all of the scratch cards for a tournament are sold?
As soon as all scratch cards for a tournament have been sold, the machine is replenished with a complete set of scratch cards that represent 100% of the players in the historical tournament.
Can I see how many Scratch Cards have been sold for a tournament before I buy in?
No. The amounts sold and the amounts remaining are not revealed until all of the scratch cards for a tournament are sold.
How do I know that the game is fair, and that all prizes have been paid out for a completed tournament?
Once all scratch cards for a tournament have been sold, the tournament results are published.
If I open the Scratch Card in the middle of a Featured Hand, can I go back and watch?
Yes. You can open and close the scratch card at any time. Check your winnings or scratch off a prize at your leisure!
Can I choose to partially scratch a card, to make replays even more fun?
Yes. You can scratch off as many fields as you wish and return to watch the game.
If I win a Bounty or Jackpot, does it go directly into my account?
No. Your game must be completed before the winnings are transferred to your account. Your game is complete when all of the prizes have been revealed. This happens automatically if you watch all of the Featured Hands, or if you manually open the scratch card and reveal all fields.
